NYC enacted Local Law 86 in 2005, requiring most city-owned and city-funded buildings to achieve LEED Silver Certification. Most State Agencies and Local Development Corporations are also following suit and are implementing a minimum of Silver Certification for New Construction and Major Renovations.

Workshop Synopsis: Receive a complete overview of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating system and the US Green Building Council (USGBC) organization. You will learn what credits constitute the LEED rating system and why it is important to be GREEN in the 21st Century.

- Topic: Comprehensive LEED Credits Review
Class Length: 8 Hr Class

Workshop Synopsis: Receive a comprehensive review of the different point categories of the LEED rating system: Sustainable Sites (SS), Water Efficiency (WE), Energy & Atmosphere (EA), Materials & Resources (MR), Indoor Environmental Quality (EQ), and Innovation in Design (ID).

Skill Level of Participants: Intermediate with basic knowledge of the construction industry and/or interior design. Architects, Engineers, CMs, GCs, Trade Contractors and others in the construction field.
Prereq: CE1 or a basic understanding of the LEED rating system and the USGBC.

- Topic: LEED 2.2/2.0 vs. LEED 2009, what you need to know? *
Class Length: 8 Hr Class

Workshop Synopsis: The USGB is coming out with LEED 2009 in March 2009. Be one of the first to know the difference between NC 2.2/CI 2.0 and LEED 2009. Get materials outlining what you need to know and insight on how to prepare to take the LEED A.P. Exam.

- Topic: LEED AP Exam Review
Class Length: 8 Hr Class

Workshop Synopsis: The USGBC is coming out with a new version of LEED New Construction and Commercial Interiors in March 2009. Classes are designed to ensure that participants will be prepared to pass the LEED AP exam as well as have a more in-depth understanding of the LEED rating system and sustainability.
Location: Homeland Safety
Skill Level of Participants: Intermediate with basic knowledge of the construction industry and/or interior design, as well as a general understanding of LEED 2.2/2.0 or LEED 2009. Architects, Engineers, CMs, GCs, Trade Contractors and others in the construction field.
Prereq: CE1, CE2, CE3 and/or a well rounded understanding of the LEED rating system.
**Bring a copy of the LEED NC, EB or CI reference guide.
Materials to be provided to participants at Workshops: Disc containing copy of presentation, handouts, and other reference resources. Sample LEED AP test will be distributed to all participants. Participants can follow along with laptops if preferred.

- Topic: Sustainable Project Management: How to approach a sustainable project.

Workshop Synopsis: The course will focus on specific, practical techniques, methods, tools, and resources vital to Sustainable Project Management. You will learn various aspects of sustainable project planning and execution processes as well as long-term operation management issues. Instructors will combine both theoretical and practical experience on cutting edge global projects as part of an interactive curriculum.

Room Set-Up Preferences:
- Ideally, a classroom layout with a podium, a microphone and a screen for PowerPoint presentation.
